First bloomed in 2015. I saw the nearly finished flower when I
arrived.

Flowers do appear more
sturdy/robust compared to diploids, however when you compare the flowers to
that of a diploid population in the field they don't necessarily look
larger. I had wondered if you compared
flowers from the same size bulbs, perhaps then it would be clear the
tetraploids were larger. Having had both
in my garden in 2017 I don't yet have a clear conclusion
